Soumith Chintala is an AI researcher and software engineer best known for leading the development of PyTorch, one of the world’s most widely used machine-learning frameworks. While at Meta AI, he helped create an open-source platform that made advanced AI research more accessible and accelerated innovation across academia and industry.
