Indian American journalists helped build institutions that transformed American journalism for the digital age. In 1994, Sree Sreenivasan and fellow journalists founded the South Asian Journalists Association, creating a professional network that supported generations of reporters across North America. Five years later, Sreenivasan co-founded the Online News Association, which became one of the country’s leading organizations for digital journalism. Together, these institutions expanded newsroom diversity, strengthened professional collaboration, and helped define the standards of online journalism in the United States.
