Anil Nayar became the first player from outside North America to win the U.S. national intercollegiate squash championship, capturing three consecutive titles for Harvard University between 1969 and 1972. He went on to win two U.S. National Singles Championships, establishing himself among the country’s premier squash players. His success marked one of the earliest breakthroughs by an athlete of Indian origin in American collegiate and national sports, demonstrating that Indian immigrants could compete and excel at the highest levels of American athletics.
