Amul Thapar is an American jurist. In 2007, he became the first Indian American appointed to an Article III federal judgeship. He later joined the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where he continues to serve. His appointment marked a milestone in the diversification of the federal judiciary and opened the way for a new generation of Indian American federal judges.
