Mohini Bhardwaj is a former American gymnast and Olympic medalist. As captain of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, she led the squad to a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, becoming the first Indian American to win an Olympic medal in gymnastics. She is also the only Indian American gymnast to have an element officially named after her in the International Gymnastics Federation’s Code of Points. Her career helped broaden Indian American representation in Olympic sport.
