Rakesh Gangwal is a prominent Indian-American billionaire businessman and veteran of the aviation industry. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he built a distinguished career at companies including United Airlines, Air France, and US Airways, where he served as CEO and chairman. In 2006, he co-founded IndiGo, India’s largest budget airline. Recently, Gangwal served on the board of Southwest Airlines, briefly holding the position of chairman. He resides in Miami, Florida.
