Roopali Desai is an American jurist. She serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, becoming the first South Asian American appointed to the nation’s largest federal appellate court. Before joining the bench, she built a distinguished career in election law and appellate litigation. Her appointment broadened South Asian representation within the federal judiciary.
