Sanjay Beach is a former professional football player. In 1989, he became the first person of Indian descent to play in the National Football League, breaking a longstanding barrier in America’s most popular professional sport. A wide receiver of Indian and Jamaican heritage, he played for the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers. His career opened the door for future athletes of Indian origin to pursue professional football in the United States.
